  • SPROUT (3 - 7 years)

There are tremendous benefits to introducing young children to the discipline of martial arts. Kids have a wealth of vibrant energy and in our highly acclaimed Sprout Program, we channel this energy to help children learn about movement, and lay the foundations for a healthy body and mind.
Sprout sessions include agility and conditioning drills, falling skills, team building activities and martial arts techniques. Classes are carefully structured to encourage children to develop focus and basic reasoning skills, understand boundaries, and learn how to work cooperatively in a team. As with all our programs, we teach students to be respectful, mindful and caring towards each other, their peers, parents, instructors and the dojo.

  • THRIVE (8 - 14 years)

Children thrive in supportive, nurturing environments that foster independence and encourage practical skills development. Our Thrive Program has an educational focus and is specifically designed to provide the foundations for future training by teaching students the basic principles of martial arts including Aikido, Judo and Jiu-jitsu. In each class students will build strength and physical fitness, improve their coordination, learn technical skills and practice those skills in free play in a safe environment.

The diversity of the Thrive Program is critical to it’s success. Much like formal schooling, we find that children benefit from a solid foundation in martial arts principles, and offer them a diverse array of subjects drawn from different disciplines. Students who wish to embrace the competitive aspects of the sport can participate in formal competitions including regional and national meets. Students often go on to attain junior ranks in Aikido, and Judo. As they grow older, they will be ready to embrace the in-depth training offered in our adult programs.
