ELLY

ELLY

Aikido Assistant Coach

I had always wanted to learn a martial art. I finally started training in aikido 13 years ago under Peter Sensei. Aikido quickly became a strong element of my life, and I love exploring aiki principles in and outside class! Four years ago, I began to learn BJJ, which has provided me with different challenges.

My martial arts journey now includes teaching aikido. It’s very rewarding to help others discover aikido and I hope I can pass on some of the insights that I have gained in my training, both from my teachers and my own practice.

BRAZILIAN Jiu JITSU

Locky

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Coach

My martial arts journey began in my late 20s while backpacking in Japan, whilse wandering Kyoto University campus,I came across a group of dedicated Judokas practicing their craft. Witnessing the artistry of one person gracefully controlling and executing throws on another left an indelible mark on me. The sheer precision and athleticism displayed were truly awe-inspiring. I had to learn the ‘Gentle way’.

Upon returning to Australia a year later, my dedication to martial arts remained steadfast. In 2017, I achieved the prestigious Shodan rank in Judo, a testament to my unwavering commitment. The following year, I expanded my skills with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), falling in love with its fluidity and freedom.

My newfound love for BJJ ignited a desire for more. I delved into the world of competitive BJJ and continued rigorous training to improve my skills. Today, I am a versatile martial artist proficient in both Judo and BJJ. My journey not only encompasses personal growth but also extends to teaching others as I now hold the role of an instructor in both Judo and BJJ, inspiring fellow martial arts enthusiasts to embark on their own incredible journeys is now my life’s mission.

Boxing

Oliver

Oliver

Boxing Coach

As an Accredited level 1 Boxing Victoria Coach, I’m here to guide your training, whatever your goals and experience. Whether you want to learn to fight, lose yourself in the technical nuances of the sweet science or just want a fun way to work out, I believe boxing is for everyone.

I found boxing 7 years ago when I was a chef, overworked and overweight. As a natural antidepressant, there was no better way to hide exercise than punching things. Boxing provides a lifelong practice that sees you always improving but never finished. Its benefits extend far beyond the ring or the belly, helping with ego management, stress relief, self-acceptance, how to fail gracefully, and, most of all, rolling with the punches of life.

Mike

Boxing Coach

You’re welcome to jump into a group class, or build your boxing skills with one on one PTs.

I am passionate about martial arts specific strength and conditioning, and also weightlifting. So if you have certain body and fitness goals I am here for it too.
